Mother Theresa once said “if you want to change the world, go home and love your family”. At Kisubi Schools we have our special families which we call houses. We have four houses and they are Malala, Wangari Marthai, Mandela and Martin Luther King. Each house has a Head of house and a good number of committed members who are always available to help him/her. Different students belong to different houses which are in particular differentiated by different colors and different icons.
There is a special attachment to these houses and the power of personal improvement has been instilled in our learners through the house system.
MARTIN LURTHER KING HOUSE
VISION: To set a high standard of performance above all the house in Kisubi High School by having excellent preparations for events and developing the talents of house.
MISSION: To commit to Excellency and hard work in all the pursuits we undertake.
Martin Luther King House is named after the civil rights movement leader Martin Luther King who played a major role in fighting for the rights of the black people in USA.
Just like last year, MLK won this year’s MDD competitions. It has also exhibited high standard performances in debate and quiz.
MLK offers excellent performances in all house activities
MANDELA HOUSE
Success will never lower its standards to accommodate you. You have to raise your standards to achieve it. God provides food for every bird but not in its nest. Rise up to challenges ahead of you and conquer your fears. As chess, football and volleyball champions 2019, Mandela House has for years raised its standards to succeed and the power of personal improvement has remained an indelible mark in our learners. The gallant Blue House motto: “It always seems impossible until it is done.”
WANGARI MARTHAI
Just like our house icon, Wangari Mathai House is one full of love, care and empathy. It is one of that believes in the power of hard work and team work. Not looking at the diversity of our cultures, we are a family in Wangari. We pray and play together. Our Icon being a woman of steel we are reminded of the values that we should already have and exhibit both in public and when alone. Our house is a home away from home and indeed nothing is better than having a sense of belonging in school. Wangari Mathai is the extended family everyone needs to belong to.
MALALA HOUSE
The story behind the exceptional Malala house is inspired by the outstanding Malala Yousfai an Afghanistan female educationalist, who like the “Malalalians”(house members) did not give up. The fire that burns in the house is fuelled by the young woman’s achievements and persistence in her vision. So far, the house has achieved or attained 2nd Position in MDD, Debate and Quiz and is gradually rising to the top. Malala house “Is a force to be reckoned with”.
